In the traditional process, they prefer to apply HPL on plywood for high class decoration for better surface. But the cost is high.
Now in China, you can find a mature product with melamine face, but not only chipboard and MDF, but Plywood. To press on Plywood directly, with same surface with HPL, but more economic.
